Greg received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1988. Following his graduation, he attended graduate school at Georgia Tech and conducted research in structural acoustics and vibration under the supervision of Professor Jerry H. Ginsberg. In particular, his research focused on the modeling of complex fluid-loaded structures. This work resulted in his Ph.D. thesis on the structural acoustics of coated cylindrical shells. After receiving his Ph.D., he worked for 3.5 years at Bolt Beranek and Newman in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was fortunate to work with luminaries such as Preston Smith, Frank Berkman, and Ed Kerwin. In 1996, he accepted a tenure track position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Boston University, where he has been ever since. He teaches classes across the curriculum and directs the Sound and Vibration Laboratory.
